Pure Nickel
99Ni(mass%)
Nickel base corrosion-resistant alloy that excels in extensive corrosive environments.
Main Features
Pure nickel shows excellent corrosion resistance in alkaline solutions such as caustic soda, and also shows outstanding resistance against highly pure halogen gas and non-oxidizing acids. It is used in wide areas such as caustic soda concentration containers. The main features of the various types of pure nickel are indicated below.
Types and features of pure nickel handled by Hitachi Metals, Ltd. Okegawa Works
NC-Ni(Ni200) | Normal pure nickel for industrial use. |
LC-Ni(Ni201) | Low-carbon nickel. For its high thermal stability (315°C or above), it is used for equipment utilized at temperatures 315°C or higher. |
D-Ni | Precipitation hardening type alloy material made by adding small amounts of aluminum and titanium. It is used for parts that require a high level of strength such as bolts and springs. |
A-Ni | High-purity nickel. Purity is 99.7% or higher. Mainly used as electrode material. |
K-Ni | High-purity nickel. Purity is 99.5% or higher. Mainly used as electrode material. |

For plates and bars, the applied mechanical property standard may differ according to the finishing, heat treatment and size. Please contact our branch offices or service offices for details.
Weldability
Pure nickel can be welded easily by either MIG or TIG. However, when it is welded at high temperatures it is necessary to completely remove slug to prevent high temperature corrosion. Nickel Filler Metal 61 is suited as the welding rod.
Please contact us regarding pure nickel welded pipes and chemical engineering machines that are also manufactured by Hitachi Metals, Ltd. Okegawa Works.
Available Product Forms
Various shapes, such as flat-rolled plates, forgings, welding wires, wires, welded pipes and tubes, seamless pipes and tubes can be manufactured.
