MA276
Ni-16Cr-16Mo-5Fe-4W(mass%)
Nickel base corrosion-resistant alloy superior in a wide range of corrosive environments.
Main Features
MA276 has solved various issues of welding while still maintaining its excellent corrosion resistance of MA-C . This alloy is improved to have little grain boundary precipitation in the welded heat-affected zone so that it can be used in many chemical processes without necessitating post-welding heat treatment.
MA276 shows not only superior pitting corrosion resistance and stress corrosion crack resistance, but also superior corrosion resistance under oxidizing and reducing mediums. It has high corrosion resistance in oxidation atmosphere in temperatures up to 1036.
Corrosion Resistanc
MA276 is highly corrosion resistant against a wide range of environments in chemical industrial processes. Some examples are: strong oxidizing agents such as ferric chloride and cupric chloride; high temperature mediums which contain organic or inorganic material; chlorine; formic acid; acetic acid; acetic anhydride; sea water and salt water. Also, since it has high corrosion resistance against sulfur compounds and chlorides, it is used in scrubbers of flue gas desulfurizing systems. MA276 shows excellent corrosion resistance even in wet chlorine gas, hypochlorite, and chlorine dioxide, which are far more corrosive.
Weldability/Workability
MA276 can be formed or molded just like stainless steel. Every normal welding method is applicable to MA276, but when using it for parts where corrosion should be prevented, oxy-acetylene method and submerged arc welding are not recommended. Also, excessive heat must be avoided.
Heat Treatment
Except when noted otherwise , solution treatment is normally performed beforehand to MA276 material. By cooling it rapidly after solution treatment, best ductility, corrosion resistance, and workability can be achieved. Parts produced by warm processing require solution treatment before the final assembling process or use.
Available Product Forms
Various shapes, such as flat-rolled plates, forgings, welding wire, wire, welded pipes and tubes, seamless pipes and tubes can be manufactured.
