Hitaka Works is the primary works of 4 that have collectively received the highest standard ISO 9001 certification for the widest range of products in Japan, from LRQA (Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance).

The International Standardization Organization (ISO) established the ISO 9000 Series as an international standard for quality management and quality assurance.
A particularly wide spectrum of standardization is covered by the 9001: from development and design through to production and supplementary service. Along with corresponding to the recent trends in international markets where attainment of ISO 9000 certification is being demanded at the bidding and contract stages, we also applied to attain ISO 90001 certification in order to further plan the maintenance of internationally current quality assurance systems and invest in the promotion of international development.

At this time 4 works have attained certification, in addition to our main works - Hitaka Works, (Hitaka town, Hitachi city, Ibaraki Prefecture), the following 3 branches of Hitaka Works have also been included in the certification: Takasago Works (Isagosawa town, Hitachi city, Ibaraki Prefecture), Minato Works (Kuji town, Hitachi city, Ibaraki Prefecture) and our 100% owned subsidiary Hitachi Cable Assemblies, Ltd. (Head factory: Kawajiri town, Hitachi city, Ibaraki Prefecture).

The products that the certification is aimed at are as follows (a detailed list is shown at the end): regarding wire and cable just about all spheres are included in the predominant power cable and telecommunication cable areas - this is a first in the cable industry in Japan. Furthermore, as well as wire and cable, optical device products, optical fiber gyro for use in car navigation systems, compound semi-conductor wafers, wire and cable accessories and assemblies are also included in the certification. So, our product range is the widest in Japan that gained the certification.

After this, using the results of this attainment as a base, we are going to consider attaining ISO 9000 Series certification for our other domestic works: Densen Works, Toyoura Works and Tsuchiura Works.

Also, with regards to our overseas bases: Hitachi Cable Singapore Ltd. (Singapore) - that has received ISO 9002 certification of enamel wire, PVC cord and AC power supply cord in February 1992 and Hitachi Cable Johor Ltd. (Malaysia) - that has also received ISO 9002 certification of PVC cord, AC power supply cord and flat cable since July 1992.
