Hidec Systems Co., Ltd. attains ISO/IEC 27001 certification
Hidec Systems Co., Ltd. (President: Hiroshi Kikuchihara), a consolidated subsidiary of Hitachi Cable, Ltd., has attained certification from the certifying authority BSI Japan K.K. under the ISO/IEC 27001:2005 international standard for information security management systems.
Hidec Systems handles design, integration, operation, and maintenance services for all aspects of information systems for its clients, including members of the Hitachi Cable group of companies, companies from outside the Hitachi Cable group, and government agencies. As part of these activities, it operates data centers for the maintenance and administration of data entrusted by its clients.
In recent years, threats to corporate information assets and to the reliability of these assets have increased. These threats include unauthorized access to information, computer viruses, leakage of personal information, and information-system downtime. In response, Hidec Systems has attained ISO/IEC 27001:2005 certification for the purposes of ensuring the reliability of the services it provides as well as ensuring smooth operation, by establishing a thorough information-management structure to protect its clients' information assets.
Hidec Systems attained ISO9001 certification in March 2004 and was authorized to receive the Privacy Mark in October 2005. In addition to the efforts it has already implemented to improve management quality, the company plans to expand its security-services business further by offering increased protection for customer information assets and providing superior services.
