Notice of transfer of antibacterial copper product operations

Effective October 1, 2006, Hitachi Cable, Ltd. will transfer its antibacterial copper product operations to Hitachi Densen Shoji, Ltd., a subsidiary. Hitachi Cable produces three types of antibacterial copper products: triangular copper corners used in home kitchen sinks, copper baskets and copper traps used in kitchen-sink drains. These products rely on the antibacterial effects of copper ions to combat the unpleasant slime that accumulates on sink components such as triangular corners and baskets. Hitachi Cable has traditionally sold these antibacterial copper products through Hitachi Densen Shoji, Ltd.

Hitachi Cable recently decided to transfer the manufacture and sales of these antibacterial copper products to Hitachi Densen Shoji. Hitachi Densen Shoji will seek to improve the efficiency of these operations and improve the service levels provided to customers by integrating all operational aspects, from product manufacture through sales.
