Hidec Systems Co., Ltd. (President: Minoru Hirasawa, hereinafter called Hidec Systems), a consolidated subsidiary of Hitachi Cable, Ltd., has been awarded Privacy Mark certification by the Japan Information Processing Development Corporation (JIPDEC) in recognition of handling of personal information in compliance with Japanese Industrial Standards Committee standard JIS Q 15001 (Requirements for Compliance Program on Personal Information Protection), which covers the handling of personal information.

Founded in 1981 as a subsidiary of Hitachi Cable to handle the latter's information-system design and software programming, Hidec Systems today provides a full range of information-system design, development, operation, and maintenance services, not only for Hitachi Cable and members of its group of companies but also for clients including companies from outside the Hitachi Cable group, local governments, and schools.

Society's interest in the protection of personal information has grown in recent years, as evidenced by developments such as the passage of the Act Concerning the Protection of Personal Information. Under such circumstances, Hidec Systems, which handles customer information in its operations including building and operating information systems, has implemented efforts to strengthen information security, giving such efforts their due attention as a key management issue. On October 17, 2005, it was granted Privacy Mark certification by JIPDEC.

As an integrated information-system service provider, by obtaining the Privacy Mark certification Hidec Systems plans to work to improve its management quality and its corporate value. To do this, Hidec Systems plans to more thoroughly implement its personal-information protection structure to meet the needs of society and to promote a structure for fulfilling its corporate social responsibility (CSR).
