Notice of Relocation of the Head Office Hitachi Cable moves its head office to Akihabara, a new center of information technology in Japan

Hitachi Cable, Ltd. has decided to move its head office to Akihabara, a new center of information technology. The new head office is scheduled to open on March 6, 2006.

In Akihabara, a redevelopment project is underway to transform the area into a global base for the IT industry. As such, Akihabara will serve as a nexus for collaboration between academia and the business world, and is expected to become a wellspring for cutting-edge technologies in IT and other fields. In August of this year, the Tsukuba Express train service began operation, connecting Akihabara and Tsukuba Science City, where a number of universities and research institutions are concentrated. With this, Akihabara continues to grow as a major terminal in the infrastructure tying together industry and academia.

The Akihabara UDX where Hitachi Cable's head office will be located is the core of the Akihabara redevelopment project, an intelligent building featuring the most advanced office functions. Hitachi Cable's new head office will be equipped with a state-of-the-art network infrastructure constructed with the company's Wireless IP5000 IP phones and Apresia-series authentication Ethernet switches, and will feature innovative office layout design as well, in order to vitalize communications among employees and maximize corporate abilities with the aim of creating new value for our shareholders and stakeholders.
