Hitachi Alloy Receives ISO 14001 Certification for Kisai Plant

Hitachi Cable announces that its consolidated subsidiary Hitachi Alloy, Ltd. (President: Masahiro Sakamoto; Headquarters: 11-7, Uchikanda 3, Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo) received ISO 14001 certification from the Japan Electrical Safety & Environment Technology Laboratories (JET) for its Kisai Plant in Saitama Prefecture.

Hitachi Alloy's Kisai Plant specializes in the manufacture and process production of such brass products as free-cutting brass rods, brass strips, brass wires, and brass tubes as well as production of a variety of copper alloys and parts for large-scale processing.

Environmental protection has been identified as one of Hitachi Alloy's priority management issues and, in line with this philosophy, the company has augmented energy-conservation activities as well as efforts to reduce waste and increase recycling. Hitachi Alloy has also expanded production of such environment-friendly products as lead-free free-cutting brass rods. As a means to increase the effectiveness of these measures, Hitachi Alloy established the target of introducing the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, for which it recently received certification.

Hitachi Alloy will continue to aggressively implement environmental protection policies to contribute to the efforts of the Hitachi Cable Group to assure the protection of the global environment.
