We have established a new office in Taipei, Taiwan Hitachi Cable, Ltd., Taipei Branch".
We have a 30-year history of exporting to the Taiwan region, but because of a sudden change in the market in the Taiwan region it became necessary to completely reconsider our business organization there. Especially in fields related to Electronics the Taiwan region is closely linked to Americas Silicon Valley, and in addition the Taiwan region is superior geographically and linguistically when considering the development of the market in the China mainland. Also, amongst all the Asian countries the Taiwan region has achieved the highest growth and by opening an office in Taipei we can deal with those business activities which bear closely on the needs of the Taipei market. With the establishment of the Taipei office, we naturally want to further deepen relationships with existing customers, in all our base product areas. The information business and the electronics field are in the midst of rapid growth in the Taiwan region, and we are precisely monitoring these market trends and intend to accelerate our Chinese business development all the more by dealing with those enterprises which have made inroads into China.

As well as the establishment of our Taipei office going ahead, our 100% owned subsidiary Hitachi Cable International, Ltd. (Head Office: Chiyoda Ku, Tokyo) has also set up a Taipei branch office, Hitachi Cable International, Ltd., Taipei Branch. This office will start by concentrating on the development of the area of electronics and will receive full support for its business activities from the beginning, from our Taipei office, and together we fully intend to deal with sales of our existing wide product range.

Now, our group has a number of enterprise bases in the vicinity of China. We already have an office in Beijing, Hitachi Cable International, Ltd., Hong Kong Branch and establishing 2 new offices in Taipei, we have a total of 4 there.
