Announcing the establishment of the Hitachi Cable Ltd.Seishi Naito Memorial Book Collection at Ibaraki University.
We would like to announce that we have donated the 'Hitachi Cable Ltd. - Seishi Naito Memorial Book Collection' to the Ibaraki University, Department of Technology library (Hitachi City, Ibaraki Prefecture). The establishment came about, when on the first anniversary of the death of our second Company President - Seishi Naito - his family proposed that they would make a donation of 5 million Yen & put it together with 5 million Yen from Hitachi Cable Ltd. in order to provide about 1,400 books, on Engineering related specialist subjects & complete works of Literature, mainly for the use of students from Ibaraki University's Department of Technology.
It can be said that, Seishi Naito & his family who spent more than 30 years living their working lives in Hitachi City, Ibaraki Prefecture, have an unusually deep attachment to the area. Furthermore, every year many top class students join our company from Ibaraki University' s Department of Technology, which has its head quarters in Hitachi city. We have also received a lot of support & cooperation from them in the R&D field.
For Seishi Naito's memory, his family, Hitachi Cable Ltd. & all those that have close connections with our company, we hope that this Memorial Book Collection will be of some benefit.
The establishment ceremony for the 'Hitachi Cable Ltd. - Seishi Naito Memorial Book Collection' took place on Sept,24, 1998 at 11.00 at the Ibaraki University, Department of Technology library.
