Shinko Electric Industries Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nagano city, Nagano - ken, and Hitachi Cable, Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda - ku Tokyo) have concluded a cross - license agreement relating to electronic components for semiconductors, whereby either party is granted a non-exclusive license under the other party's patent and/or utility model rights.
The products sighted in this agreement are electronic components for semiconductors like: Leadframes for semiconductor devices, Semiconductor packages and TAB (Tape Automated Bonding) tape. However, Compound semiconductor crystals and Optical - related products are not targeted.
Moreover, the targeted ranges stated in this agreement, also cover the subsidiaries of both companies, and they get the same treatment .
Because of the conclusion of this cross - license agreement, the two companies, which have similar products, in the electronic components for semiconductors field, will be able to develop, manufacture and sell products which use each other's patents and utility models.
By conclusion this agreement we intend to develop superior products meeting the market needs, as both companies will be able to use a larger range of technology than before.
