Business Alliance in Heat-Shrinkable Tubes with Raychem Corporation
We have formed a business alliance with Raychem Corporation (USA) and its Japanese subsidiary, Raychem Co., Ltd., to sell heat-shrinkable tubes in the Japanese domestic market and the Southeast Asian region.
Heat-shrinkable tubes are used in a wide range of applications, such as insulation, reinforcement, binding, protection, etc., of electric wires and cables, and wiring inside electric and electronic equipment. Electric wires and connectors are covered with these tubes, and when the tubes are heated, they shrink and conform to the shape of the items they enclose. There is a demand for highly fire-resistant and shrinkable products, which can be worked at relatively low temperatures, to increase productivity.
Under this business alliance, Raychem Corporation (USA) and Raychem Co., Ltd. will manufacture heat-shrinkable tubes for electronic equipment under the joint brand name "Hitachi Cable-Raychem." These tubes will be supplied to our company and we will use our own company distribution network to market the "Hitachi Cable-Raychem" brand products. In the Japanese domestic market, we will have the exclusive right to sell these products.
Raychem Corporation (USA), which is a major electronic parts maker with its head office in California, boasts the highest level of achievement in heat-shrinkable tubes. Through this business alliance, they will be able to secure a sales distribution network in the Japanese domestic market. For us, in addition to gaining the sales rights for products that are very competitive, we will have a structure for enhancing our position in this field by extending our product range. Thus, both companies stand to reap significant benefits from this business alliance, and we intend to extend our alliance to include other products.
