Hitachi Cable, Ltd. has recently established a Europe-based joint venture, Euro Wire & Cable Services, Ltd., in cooperation with wire harness manufacturer HAYAKAWA International (UK) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Hayakawa Electric Wire Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Hyogo Prefecture, Japan; President: Masao Hayakawa) and Kanematsu (UK) Ltd., a subsidiary of KANEMATSU CORP(Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan; President: Masao Yosomiya). The establishment of this joint venture is in response to the increased needs of the Europe-based operations of electronics companies that are boosting local procurement of wire harnesses for use in electronic appliances. The new joint venture is the first production base in Europe for us.

Euro Wire & Cable Services, Ltd. is the forth joint venture between Hitachi Cable and Hayakawa Electric Wire Co., Ltd. The previous joint ventures, Oxford Wire Cable Services, Inc. in the United States and Thai Wire & Cable Services Co., Ltd. in Thailand, Huanan Wire & Cable Services Co., Ltd., in Hong Kong, manufacture and sell wire harnesses for electronic appliances and other products.
