Hitachi Cable, Ltd. has recently established a Hong Kong-based joint venture, Huanan Wire & Cable Services Co., Ltd., in cooperation with wire harness manufacturer HDK International (H.K.) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Hayakawa Electric Wire Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Hyogo Prefecture, Japan; President: Masao Hayakawa). The establishment of this joint venture is in response to the increased needs of the China- based operations of Japanese electronics companies that are boosting local procurement of wire harnesses for use in electronic appliances.

Huanan Wire & Cable Services Co., Ltd. is the third joint venture between Hitachi Cable and Hayakawa Electric Wire Co., Ltd. The previous joint ventures, Oxford Wire & Cable Services, Inc. in the United States and Thai Wire & Cable Services Co., Ltd. in Thailand, manufacture and sell wire harnesses for electronic appliances and other products.
